NOTICE TO ANY TECHNICIAN WHO HAS PROVISIONAL STATUS IN ANY ENDORSMENT
Subject: Time limit on Provisional or Trainee status
In January 2016, changes in the Fire Protection Certification Board (FPCB) Policy included eliminating “Interim” and “Trainee” categories of registration. A new category called “Provisional” was introduced for applicants that had either completed the required education or training but did not have the required work experience or vice versa. All Interim and Trainee Registered Fire Protection Technicians (RFPT) were notified of the new policy and advised their status would change to full or Provisional certification.
You are receiving this e-mail because our records indicate you are a RFPT (Provisional) in one or more endorsements and to remind you there is a two year limit on completing the requirements to reclassify from Provisional to full certification in such endorsements. To check your RFPT status for each endorsement go to the ASTTBC website and enter your name or FP number in the search box.
The outstanding requirements should be met by December 2018.
Please contact Erin Macedo, Registration Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need assistance completing an online request to reclassify from Provisional (P) to Full (F) certification in one or more endorsements.
